Dr Katherine Leonard

Dr Leonard graduated in 2012 from Cardiff University (UK) with a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery. She is a Specialist GP having gained fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has a surgical background in the field of Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgery and General Surgery.

In addition to private practice, Dr Leonard has active involvement in medical education, training and research. She is an Honorary Associate Lecturer, with previous academic appointments at Macquarie University, the University of Sydney and Bristol University. She has presented her research at national and international conferences, has published her work in medical journals and is an author of a paediatric textbook.

Outside of work, Dr Leonard has a passion for ultra marathon running, ocean swimming and dragon boat racing. She lives on the Northern Beaches and loves everything the area has to offer.

1. Procedural GP / Minor Surgical Procedures

· Intrauterine device (IUD, Mirena, Kyleena) insertion and removal

· Implanon insertion and removal

· General: laceration suture repair, abscess incision and drainage, skin excision

· ENT procedures – ear micro suction, nasal cautery, foreign body removal

· Iron infusion
