How Does Telehealth Work?

Lockdowns can affect our physical and mental health and restrictions create a concern amongst people to avoid seeing health specialists in fear of spreading or catching the virus.

If you have a device like a laptop, iPad, or computer with video capability and a reliable internet connection help is at hand through Telehealth Services.

Our Allied Health partners at Ignite Health & Fitness and Rebound Health provide Telehealth Services; an effective way to meet with an expert Dietitian, Occupational Therapist, Exercise Physiologist, or Physiotherapist from the comfort of your own home.

How Does a Telehealth Appointment Work?

The easiest way to make a Telehealth appointment is to call first and make an appointment. Make sure you choose a time at home where you won’t be disturbed.  Your consultant will talk you through the necessary steps so you can set up your first consultation. They will then send you an email with a link for your scheduled appointment.

For your first session, we suggest you prepare at least 5-10 minutes before your session. Find somewhere at home where you are comfortable, click on the link that your consultant has sent, and set your video conferencing up by following the prompts. Your practitioner will also provide a mobile number, so if you get stuck, you have someone to call.

Can I Claim For Telehealth Through Medicare or Health Fund?

Rebates for telehealth services are now available from medicare, provided you have a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan. Most private health insurance companies will also allow you to claim; however, we suggest you check with them first. When booking your appointment, you can talk through all payment methods with your consultant.

At Mounties Care, members' health and safety are our highest priority.   Telehealth services work: our experts can guide you through injury, help to get you out of pain, and create plans to get you back on track swiftly – so you have more time to enjoy the things you love.
